They told me growing up
would feel like fireworks
or at least a montage
with good lighting.
Instead, I got
Google Calendar reminders
and a sudden emotional attachment
to laundry detergent brands.
I am becoming an adult
in small terrifying increments
like remembering to drink water
and not crying in public (success rate: improving)
Somewhere between
childhood and taxes
I lost the instruction manual
but gained anxiety with premium features.
I stand here
emotionally undercooked
but technically older
so I guess that counts.
